Create an Informational Page
When your plog was created an “About Me” and “Where I have Ridden” pages were automatically created. You can edit these pages to let folks know about who you are and where you have been. Using the same aspect of the plogs, you can create any number of static pages. These pages differ from the plog function, as they aren’t ordered by date, nor do they change as you make plog posts. These are simple information pages that you can write, perhaps a packing list or information about the weather. It is up to you.
In your Admin Area, you will find a button in the lefthand array called Pages, with two drop down options of Edit and Add New. These are pretty much self-explanatory. Both of these eventually take you to the Edit Page screen.
The Edit Page screen is fairly straight forward. In the center section, the top box is for the page’s title, which also becomes the web address. The next box down is where you enter the copy. Here you have the option of Visual or HTML. We suggest using the Visual tab unless you are well versed in html coding. The next box called Custom Fields you can ignore, as our templates do not use this. Finally you need to decide if you want visitors to be able to comment on this page and if you want other websites to index it (the ping function).
On the righthand side, you first have a Publish box. The Status tells you if the page is live on the web (Published) or still a draft. The Visibility lets you choose if the page can be viewed by everyone (public) or is password protected or is private (for your eyes only).
The Attributes box lest you arrange pages by groups having a parent page or select a different page layout (if your choosen theme offer them). It also gives you an Order option, whereby you can force pages to appear in a numerical sequence not alphabetically as is the default.
