The Biergarten

We offer about 20 different themes that you can use for your plog. These range from quite simple to incredible complex designs.

To access the various themes, choose the Appearance button on the lefthand side of your Admin Page, then select the Themes option. This will take you to a Manage Theme page, with a display of the available choices (actually there are two pages, as we have too many for a single page).

You can click on any theme and the system will show you a preview of the theme WITH your posts and entries. Once you have choosen the perfect theme, click on the “Activate (theme name)” link on the uppr right corner of the preview.

Some of the themes, such as Aeros, Cutline, LetoPrime, MistyLook, Rubric and Tarski, offer several choices for the header image. And a couple of them allow you to upload your own image (but it does need to be cropped to the size they specify BEFORE you upload it). When you activate these themes, as new option will be added to the Appearance menu for choosing imagery.

You can change themes as often as you wish, but keep in mind staying with the same theme over time builds familiarity with your friends and regular visitors.

You are NOT allowed to upload your own themes. Unfortunately, quite a number of the “free” themes out there have hidden coding that inserts spam and unwanted links into your plog and directories. If you see a theme that you can’t live without and it is WordPress compatible, contact us and let us know where you found it. We will check it out and let you know if it can be added. But keep in mind, any theme added will be available to ALL users, so it won’t remain unique to your plog.
