Good Morning. My wife, Mary Kay (MK) and I, are signed up for the "Bike and Sail Polynesia" in June. We will be going in a week early to spend a couple of days on Tahiti, and then three days on Moorea, before joining up with the tour group.

Three items:

First, would love to hear from anyone else joining this tour, especially if you have participated in the past.

Secondly, any suggestions on the best things to do during our "free time" prior to joining up with the group, and also when we touring the islands, when not biking, would be much appreciated.

Finally, any experience in how to store the bikes prior to joining the cruise. I am thinking that probably the best place would be Papeete airport storage, then pick the bikes up on the Saturday that we meet up, assembling them that morning. Also, I have heard there is a bike store in Papeete, but can't seem to find out much about it. Would like to know more about what it stocks, just in case a spare part is needed, and I can avoid carrying back-up.

Thanks so much for any thoughts, and look foward to meeting up with you if you are going on the tour.

Rick and Mary Kay Wilson

Postings by prospective guests and interested public are welcome. The forum is a great place to get feedback from past guests on our trips. We suggest posting your questions under either the destination or a general category like Travel or Cycling.

Appropriate questions for the forum include asking about the roads, foods, lodging, support experiences, etc. We suggest adding the tour name or destination to your post title, such as: "How spicy is the food ? -Thailand"; "Do the hotels have nice swimming pools ? - Northern Highlights". This allows responders to find posts about their tours and helps you get accurate replies.

This is not the place to ask questions of a personal nature such as about balances due, contact details, etc. These should be directed via email to our office address. We will not post any contact details for guests, staff or even suppliers such as hotels, in the forum. Likewise this forum is not a place air any grievances, these should be directed to our office email address. That being said, we don't mind constructive criticisms being posted, ie: too much traffic, not enough western food choices, bad hotel, etc.

Tags are sorting values that can be added to your post. You can choose what is appropriate to your post, but obscure terms will serve no purpose. As posts are tagged the server keeps tab on related posts and displays the tags on the left side of the main forum page. Clicking on a tag will bring up all posts that were tagged as such.

To tag your post, simply enter the tag word or phrase into the box and click Add. We suggest limiting the number of tags to no more than 2 or 3. As an example, if you were posting a question about travel documents needed to visit Thailand, you might use "Thailand" and "Visa" as your tags. If you were posting about our tour in Bhutan, you might use the "tour's name" and "Bhutan" as your tags.

The tags are intended as an easy means to quickly find posts related to what you are interested in. Using to many tags or obscure ones defeats the purpose (and there is a limit on how many tag values the front page can display. <img src="http://thebiergarten.com/forums/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_wink.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />
