Keeping up with the Joneses

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So we here at Pedalers should be quite flattered by the news coming from our competition.

Recently one of our major competitors announced a bold new concept, “more miles, less money”. They are creating some new trips offering longer daily rides of up to 60 or 70 miles (100 – 120 kms) and a cost of less than $2000 for a six day tour. Great … but sounds awfully similar to what we have been offering for years (7 days in Thailand at $1575 with deluxe hotels). Also gives one a reason to pause for a moment and wonder, if they are still providing the same quality tour, how much profit were they making on the former easier trips ??

Another bike touring company announced they were going “green”, by putting all their tour details online and not printing a paper catalog … been there done that almost ten years ago.

It is always good to see some of our concepts adopted by others in the industry. Team Pedalers has always been on the leading edge when it comes to running tours, imaginative routing and sustainable practices long before they became trendy. It’s nice to be the Joneses.
